Stephen King confirms a big Dark Tower rumor and theory!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I've got an “I toldja” owed to me and damn it, I'm gonna take it!

This morning Stephen King tweeted something very interesting about the Dark Tower movie, something I gave you guys a heads up on a while back when Ron Howard was still directing and more recently when I shed some light on the Pinkner/Goldsman draft of the script (click here to read that).

Here's the tweet:

If you haven't finished the books you have no idea what that's significant. I can't explain fully why it's a big deal without potentially spoiling a major plot point, but I can say Roland being in possession of this artifact gives the filmmakers a lot of leeway when it comes to adapting this material.

This is the key they're going to use in order to deflect some fan outrage over a not completely strict book by book adaptation and up until now you've only had to take the word of people like me who might know some things, but could also be wrong or misinformed. Now our Constant Writer has confirmed it.

The Horn of Eld is in Roland's hands and the text says volumes about the finality of his journey in the cinematic adaptation. To most that won't mean much, but to the die hard readers it's a clear sign that you need to be ready for a path unlike the one you might be expecting.
