Check out a Deleted Scene from SCREAM: The Series

Hello ladies and gentlemen, Muldoon here. As you can probably assume, when a project is being promoted, you get a tiny flood of info from that given project on the net, be it this site, that site, or the site you're not even thinking of. Interviews, clips, etc... As a fan of the original SCREAM trilogy, of course I'd gravitate towards checking out the SCREAM TV show. Letting go of the "Muldoon, you don't dig reboot TV shows too often" mentality and giving this show a fair shake was not only healthy, but really allowed myself to get thrown into this new SCREAM world. At first I had beef with the mask... I still prefer the film's mask to this one, but separating the two kind of feels like comparing apples to oranges (or mangos for that matter). The fact that the TV show is set in a different town, has completely different characters, and a brand new backstory only help differentiate the show and the film. I actually really had fun with the show and finally got caught up last night, with a sincere "Who the hell is the killer?" dancing around my head until the final reveal. It's a fun reminder of "you can think you've got it figured out, but you don't..." Devil's Advocate, there are some truly bad performances sprinkled in those ten episodes surrounded by some fun performances. John Karna, in my eyes, stole the show - or at least his character was given some fun dialog to play with and he chewed every written word he got.

The clip below is a deleted scene from the show and with good reason, to be honest. It features Willa Fitzgerald's character, "Emma" (think "Sidney") and Amelia Rose Blaire's "Piper Shaw" (think "Gale Weathers") talking about something in a car. There's no action/death/violence/real humor here at all, but it's always kind of cool to see "what they didn't use" and also gives you a vibe of how the show handles dialog. I'd definitely consider myself a fan of the show - so I thought I'd share for the SCREAM fans in the AICN audience (totally understanding it's not for everyone).

The Season 1 DVD just hit stores on the 10th, and the next season begins May 30th on MTV. (Psst... it's streaming on Netflix right now, too).
