Adam McKay to direct comic adaptation IRREDEEMABLE!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Adam McKay isn't done with Superhero movies just yet. You may remember the writer/director came in to help salvage Ant-Man after Edgar Wright left the project, doing a quick rewrite with Paul Rudd. He's also done work on Ant-Man 2, but now it looks like he's directing a superhero flick... or rather an anti-superhero flick.

McKay will direct IRREDEEMABLE for 20th Century Fox, based off of the Mark Waid book put out by BOOM! Studios, per Deadline.

I'm no expert on this book, but it sounds like it's pretty much what would happen if Superman went full out evil. Fellow heroes have to team up to try to save the world from the ultra powerful hero gone bad and even have to enlist his former villains to help.

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters' Tommy Wirkola is writing the script, which McKay will likely direct and produce.

The current trend right now is getting a bunch of superpowered individuals all fighting together/against each other, so this feels like it'll fit right into that leg of the current comic book movie marathon.

What do you folks think?
