The Russos say Avengers: Infinity War Parts 1 and 2 will get a title change and here's why...

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Uproxx has an interview with the Russos where they discuss the upcoming Avengers two-parter which has up until now been referred to as Infinity War Part 1 and Infinity War Part 2. I said up until now because they've decided that labeling them Part 1 and Part 2 puts the wrong impressions in people's minds.

They're not going for one long two-movie story that's split down the middle of act 2, but rather two large, contained films. Everybody's favorite blogger target Devin Faraci at Birth.Movies.Death has some insight from his sources about that break down, which pretty much boils it down to the first film being about for-real introducing Thanos as a character and having him finally collect the Infinity Stones and part two being the fall out from him having that kind of power.

The plan is still to shoot both films back to back and have them release a year apart, one in 2018 and the other in 2019.

I'm team Russo above all else. Winter Soldier was fantastic and Civil War is my favorite Marvel movie in a while. It seriously has one of the best superhero fight scenes I've ever seen.

They get character and seem to have a natural instinct to juggle dozens of characters without shortchanging any of them. I can't wait to see their Infinity War movies, whatever they're going to be called.
