Daisy Ridley to star in WW2 drama THE LOST WIFE!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Daisy Ridley's non-Star Wars related dance card is filling up really quickly. It's no surprise, either. The Force Awakens showed her entirely capable of shouldering a massive franchise picture and it was her first real time at bat.

Variety is reporting that she's attached to a project called The Lost Wife based on a book by Alyson Richman. The novel is about a young artist couple in Prague who are separated when the Nazis invade.

Ridley is still shooting Episode VIII and is already attached to the JJ Abrams-produced KOLMA. Before she knows it she'll have Episode IX to contend with, so I imagine the talk of her joining up as the new Lara Croft for the Tomb Raider reboot was either bunk or she turned them down. Looks like she's interested more in drama than other action tentpoles.

It's worth noting that Mark Hamill's big non-Star Wars movie made after the success of that first movie was The Big Red One, a WW2 drama directed by Sam Fuller. He didn't want to be typecast either. The Big Red One is great, by the way. Seek it out if you can.

Anyway, that's the big Daisy Ridley update. What do you folks think?
