Stephen King's CELL gets a poster and trailer!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Nobody loves Stephen King more than me... Well, that's probably not true. I'm sure his kids love him more than I do, but you know what I mean. Big time fan, constant reader, etc etc. My love of King's work came in large part because of the film adaptations of it making me want to seek out the original source.

So, I make a point to see every King adaptation, no matter how low rent and crappily executed. I'm always interested in seeing how the man is adapted and note what works and what doesn't.

Cell was an odd book, but a very cinematic book. The opening read like the hook of a great survival horror movie. The whole thing was his twist on the typical zombie apocalypse tale, which was pretty fresh at the time, but judging from the trailer for the adaptation I'm wondering if this movie isn't 5 years too late.

We see this imagery every week on The Walking Dead. We saw the father/son apocalypse story done so well in The Road pretty recently, too.

But I dig John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson and their previous King collaboration (1408) was pretty dang good, so I'll give this one a shot... not like I wasn't anyway, but I guess I mean I'll give it a shot with a bit of hopeful optimism that I might not have based solely on the marketing materials.

Cell gets an Ultra VOD release June 10th before hitting limited theatrical and regular VOD on July 8th.

What do you folks think?
