From Zero to Flash?? GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL's Tony Revolori joins SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING!

Zero’s gone from Lobby Boy to school bully in just a few short moves.

19-year-old actor Tony Revolori, who has spent the years since GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL appearing in DOPE and THE 5TH WAVE, will star in SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING.

They got him playing “Peter Parker’s nemesis/enemy at high school” who is not a supervillain, which we gotta assume is Flash Thompson, right? I mean, Revolori’s a little dude, one who looks decidedly more ethnic than the typically Anglo Flash, but how many other bullies with actual names/personas did Parker actually contend with in high school? It’s not like they’d cast Revolori as “Thompson sidekick # 2,” would they?

Now, there’s always the possibility that they’re writing out Flash entirely, and are concocting a new character to steal girls/dignity from our webslinging hero, but whether they call him Flash Thompson or not, the guy who bullies Peter will pretty much be Flash anyway, right?

Regardless, it’ll be interesting to see the guy who was the brunt of so much abuse in GRAND BUDAPEST and DOPE dish it out instead of take it for once, and hopefully he’ll inject as much energy into his turn here as he did into those two films.

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING will shout “get your hands off my Spider-Man!” on July 7th, 2017.
