KINGSMAN 2 potentially lined up a role for Elton John this week, potentially as either himself or even a small character role, then last night, none other than Channing Tatum goes and tweets this:

Now, aside from the obvious, which is that Tatum will star in KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE, we can infer from this poster (which appears to be a character teaser for his character) that he’ll be playing one of the American Kingsman doppelgangers, one that will utilize Tatum’s real-life southern heritage (like HATEFUL EIGHT, which used his accent to optimal effect).
Also, it would appear that his character has the use of both his eyes.
So now, they’ve got their little A-list cast all wrapped up and tidy, with Halle Berry, Julianne Moore, and now Tatum joining Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, and most certainly Colin Firth above the title. They’ve bumped up the number of A-listers from the first film’s three up to four (not including Egerton or Strong), including three all-new American cast members. They can go to the mat with this cast, and expect people to show up in greater numbers than they did last time. Now, we’ll have to see whether Tatum, Moore, or Berry can generate the kind of excitement Firth did when he did his dapper routine or when he laid waste to a church full of racist, homophobic ingrates, but in terms of marketing, they got the actors they need to sell this one with both barrels. Well done, Vaughn.
KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE will probably spare us any Ginuwine on June 16th, 2017.
