Yesterday, we got some imagery from THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE, and now we see the Arnett-voiced hero in action for the first time since THE LEGO MOVIE (not counting Arnett’s in-person appearance at the Oscars, that is).
I’ll admit I never thought about it until I saw it, but who else thinks its hilarious that Bats never takes his cowl off, even when otherwise disrobed?
I’m still jonesing for a peek at their Joker, Robin, Alfred, and Catwoman (though we briefly see the Justice Leaguers we mostly met in LEGO MOVIE), but this teaser seems to justify a full hour-and-a-half with this animated Dark Knight, provided they continue to rip apart his spoiled lifestyle, arrogant demeanor, and deep-seeded neuroses. The core joke that he's just a lonely rich sicko is pretty appealing, to be honest, and as the DCCU takes shape with BATMAN V. SUPERMAN, it's great to see Warner simultaneously taking the piss out of their own tentpole property.
And that sure is a funny lookin’ Batcave, innit?
