Taylor Kitsch aka Tim Riggins will be stepping behind the camera this summer to helm his feature film debut PIECES.
Kitsch has been near the spotlight for quite a while, starting with his beloved performance as the troubled football player Riggins in the acclaimed FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHT Series. He went on to feature film work, which was a bit of a mixed bag, reteaming for FNL producer Peter Berg for BATTLESHIP and LONE SURVIVOR and doing a decent turn in JOHN CARTER, which, despite a cult following, was ultimately a box office failure. We've all been waiting oh-so-patiently for the project that will rocket him into super-stardom.
Maybe this is the one. Deadline reports that Kitsch will be working with several team members from LONE SURVIVOR on PIECES, including Berg, who will serve as producer, alongside with Randall Emmet and George Furla.
The fillm will be a crime drama centering on a group of friends in Detriot whose lives are upended when they intercept a drug run. Kitsch wrote the script and will also be starring in the film.
PIECES is set to being production this summer, so we should have more news on it in the coming months.
