MEN IN BLACK JUMP STREET... to be helmed by James Bobin?

Hey folks, Harry here...  Sony has become a very odd place since the massive Hack to the company.  If you remember that lunacy - you remember that the LEGO MOVIE guys were going to do a MEN IN BLACK / 21 JUMPSTREET flick.  It's just plum odd, but we're in the age of smash up entertainment.  Biggest of these will be Spielberg's READY PLAYER ONE, which will unhinge minds, I bet.   But since the leak that let the world know that Chris Miller & Phil Lord were doing that smashup, they scored a gig to make Kasdan's HAN SOLO flick for Lucasfilm - and they're knee deep in a mass of would be younger Han Solo types for casting - and Sony needed somebody to take over this project that the world must consume.   I know in the two Jump Street films all I could think was...  THIS NEEDS ALIENS.   Well that's what we're going to get, but with James Bobin directing!

Bobin originates from the FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS crew - and then did THE MUPPETS and Disney's upcoming ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS...  and this project is meant to start shooting by the summer according to former AICN-alumnus MiraJeff Sneider over at THE WRAP!   Apparently none of the established actors or characters from MEN IN BLACK 1,2,3 will be back, so they've got to cast all new folks in the Black Suits & Sunglasses.   Weird project.

Let's just hope that they stay away from all edgy or politically tense humor because SONY has some spinal fortitude issues when it comes to anything with a bit of teeth.

So let me ask you folks...  Do you have any interest in this project?   I mean, will it go the R-rated route of the last JUMP STREET film or the PG13 route of the MEN IN BLACK films?   What do you want or expect from this Mashup film?   And will Paramount get the Transformers/GI JOE mash up film going anytime soon?   And will AVENGERS INFINITY WAR have Star Wars characters showing up?

Too many moving parts...  the mind boggles

Keep it cool,

Harry
