Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Today's my birthday, but don't worry. I told the Star Wars guys it was okay to start filming today. Sure, it'll steal a little bit of my thunder on my special day, but I'm a man of the people and the people want them their Star Wars!
So, the production start announcement confirmed the return of all these people: Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, and Andy Serkis. But most interestingly it announced two new faces, one we already knew and the other a complete and welcome surprise.
Benicio del Toro will join the cast (no surprise there, but now it's official) as well as Laura Dern. Yes, Laura Dern! How awesome is that. I can't help but see her as some kind of strong leader type, but how awesome is that we have these two playing in the Star Wars sandbox?
The production also released a little video, with some BTS from the preshoot in Ireland a few months back. Prepare to have you some goosebumps!
