The CW says of “Sins of The Father”:
Oliver receives an offer from Nyssa that is hard to refuse. Meanwhile, Thea continues to battle the blood lust, Malcolm steps in to help his daughter, and Laurel has a heart to heart talk with Nyssa.

After being imprisoned by Malcolm Merlyn several months back when she chose to destroy the Lazarus Pit, Nyssa al Ghul escapes her Nanda Parbat cell and travels to Japan in search of a sacred lotus guarded by none other than Tatsu Yamashiro aka Katana. When it became apparent their skills are matched in combat, Nyssa proposes they lay down their weapons and discuss why she was in need of the flower.
Meanwhile Oliver and company give chase to a highly skilled burglar who later turns out to be former Team Arrow member Roy Harper. Roy reveals he had his identity discovered by someone calling himself "The Calculator" and was forced into stealing components used to build a device that could essentially "destroy the internet" or in his hands....shut down a city's entire infrastructure. One of those components is an incredibly powerful battery that Palmer Technologies' Curtis Holt developed as the "world changing tech" the company needed to pull them from financial ruin.
"World changing tech" that Felicity helps Team Arrow retrieve as she goes toe to toe with The Calculator on her keyboard. Little does she know her cyberspace adversary is later sitting in the audience during her presentation of the battery....which she reveals is so powerful, it's generating enough energy to run the entire Palmer building. After it's over the man approaches her and we find out Calculator is actually....her father!!!
Back in flashback land on Lian Yu, Baron Reiter tortures Oliver seeking information about his strange glowing tattoo and what he wanted with the maps retrieved from the ship wreckage off the coast. Ollie eventually passes out from the pain and dreams of Shado rescuing him. She tells him it's time to shed his darkness and return to his family, and the first step in doing that is to admit his guilt to Taiana....the woman she says he loves. Upon waking up, Taiana takes the revelation about as well as expected.
Speaking of revelations, Thea finally told Ollie about her encounter with Damien Darhk where his power inadvertently subdued her bloodlust. Unfortunately since she had spent the last few months trying her best not to give in to her curse, her body was now shutting down as result. With this news, desperate to save his sister's life, Oliver considers turning to the man that had just put his fiancée in a wheelchair despite Malcolm's insistence of it being a foolish plan. Never the less, once he learns Darhk's wife would be challenging him in the mayoral race, he uses it as an opportunity to set up a meeting to speak with Darhk, but would eventually back out when Team Arrow request his assistance in their assault on The Calculator's latest target.
By episode's end, Thea slips into a coma and is hospitalized. As Oliver sits by her bedside thinking all hope is lost, hope shows up in the form of Nyssa al Ghul who offers him a cure.....the lotus she retrieved from Tatsu in Japan, which will counteract the effects of the Lazarus Pit. She tells him she will give it to him if he helps her do one thing.
