The CW says of “Unchained”:
The team faces off against a formidable villain nicknamed The Calculator (guest star Tom Amandes). Meanwhile, Nyssa (guest star Katrina Law) makes her move and Roy Harper (guest star Colton Haynes) returns to Star City.
Longtime talkbacker Shermdawg recaps last month’s “AWOL”:
- As she came to terms with the reality she may never walk again, Felicity suffered medicine induced hallucinations of her hot goth former self who tried to get her not to conform n' shit, and smoke cigarettes with her and her friends as they read poetry of despair out by the dumpsters. Eventually she manages to ignore her and returns to Team Arrow, now with a codename of her own.... "Overwatch, because Oracle was taken."
- Shadowspire, a rogue special forces unit who were outed as war profiteers, which Andrew Diggle once served in, and was revealed to be the group Baron Reiter led back on Lian Yu, starts offing A.R.G.U.S. agents including Lyla's friend which leads her and the brothers Diggle into tracking them down. Eventually they're brought in by Amanda Waller for debriefing shortly before Shadowspire infiltrates and takes over Waller's facility.
-Turns out they're after something codenamed "Rubicon" locked away within A.R.G.U.S.' basement vault. After it's made clear she wouldn't assist them, Waller is killed (!!!) leaving only Lyla to pony up the vault's access codes. Luckily the Diggles and Team Arrow manage to take down Shadowspire and prevent them from gaining access to whatever it was A.R.G.U.S. was protecting.
- After proving his trust, and seemingly working things out with his brother, Andy is invited back to John and Lyla's for dinner where he meets his niece for the first time. He tells John they may have reconnected, but it'll probably take him awhile to do the same with his wife and son who still think he's dead.
Is Andy for real, or has Darhk sent a wolf in sheep's clothing into the Diggle family? John's chances of being in that grave may have just risen, especially considering they ended the ep with this uncharacteristically happy scene...
