Corey Hawkins, who plays Heath on “The Walking Dead” and Dr. Dre in “Straight Outta Compton,” has been hired as the lead for Fox’s “24” spinoff pilot “24: Legacy.”
A press release said “all-new cast,” so it looks like Mary Lynn Rajskub won’t be back to transition.
What will be back is the U.S. government’s Counter-Terrorism Unit and the real-time format. Like Jack Bauer, Hawkins' new central character Eric Carter will be a war hero.
Why no Jack Bauer? I reckon Keifer Sutherland has enough money and wants to do other things.
Howard Gordon, Manny Coto and Evan Katz, all writer-producers behind the original “24,” are back for “Legacy.”
Hawkins played the bespectacled Heath on two 2015 episodes of “The Walking Dead.”
