Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. The BFG is Steven Spielberg's next film, an adaptation of the beloved Roald Dahl book and totally in his wheelhouse (young child + wondrous supernatural/alien/awesome friend).
Disney has released the first poster, which is cute as hell and very smartly uses that nostalgic E.T. font when refering to that classic film. And this time it's not an exaggeration! You all have seen those "From the Producer of Harry Potter" or "From the Studio that brought you Avatar" kind of cheap plugs, but The BFG is for real brought to you by the creative team behind E.T.... and not just Spielberg. The late, great Melissa Mathison wrote the adaptation. Also, "human beans" is a nice touch, a nod to the original Dahl text.
I've been hearing really good things about this one and would love to see yet another great childhood flick from Spielberg.
