Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Now this is interesting. Vinyl's Jon S. Baird is helming a Laurel & Hardy biopic focused on their 1953 variety tour through the UK. Their best days were behind them at this point. Hardy was in poor health. The public wasn't really coming out in the same kind of numbers they did the previous decade.
Deadline says the film will star Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly as Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, which sounds pretty awesome to me. Pair that with a script by Philomena's Jeff Pope and the focus on the not-so-rosy days of the legendary comic duo's career and you got something that has my attention.
