Is one of these young lads going to play a stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy-looking nerf-herder by the name of Han Solo??

You knew at least two of these guys were gonna be up for it.

Variety put up a contradictorily long shortlist of actors Disney and Lucasfilm are looking at to play Young Han Solo in Lord/Miller’s upcoming spinoff.

The list includes: Miles Teller (WHIPLASH), Dave Franco (21 JUMP STREET), Jack Reynor (TRANS4MERS), Scott Eastwood (THE LONGEST RIDE), Logan Lerman (PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER), Emory Cohen (BROOKLYN), and Blake Jenner (GLEE).

Teller and Franco were shot out as possibilities even before Lucasfilm officially announced their Solo spinoff, and it’s not hard to see why. They’re both charming, funny young talents who have shown the type of swagger that’s absolutely essential to playing one of the most enduring cinematic heroes of the past half-century. Teller doesn’t quite have Franco’s good looks, while the latter hasn’t gotten the same chances to show off his acting chops as the former, but I don’t have to squint too hard to see either of them donning the famous vest.

The other names aren’t quite as exciting, but it sounds like there's more actors in contention (allegedly a dozen in total) and that they haven’t even tested anyone yet, so it’s still anyone’s game, though a decision is expected to be made “in the next couple of weeks.” The rumor is that Young Solo will make a cameo (alongside the also-rumored Darth Vader) in ROGUE ONE, so hopefully, we’ll get a glimpse of our smuggler before the year’s end.

Who would your dream pick be for Young Han Solo?
