The folks who pick the winners of the Golden Globes each year catch a lot of shit from the mainstream press because they won't let most major foreign journalists join the "Hollywood Foreign Press Association" and the leadership of the HFPA has apparently forbidden the vast majority of its 90-odd members to speak to journalists.
Can you imagine the New York Film Critics Circle or the Los Angeles Film Critics Association or the National Society of Film Critics forbidding Richard Roeper or Manohla Dargis or Richard Corliss or Kenneth Turan or any of their member critics from speaking to their fellow journalists?
But what matters these scandals? Most fans tuning into tonight's ceremony are likely more concerned about what Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams are wearing to the event. (Spoiler alert: They'll be clothed in pretty dresses!)
I'd wager the Golden Globe for best motion picture drama will go to "Spotlight" or "Mad Max: Fury Road." Here's why:
