Sly Stallone Is Rambo No More.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Like most of you, I was greatly looking forward to Sly Stallone returning to the world of Rambo. His last outting was pretty damn fun and word on the street is he was aiming to make Rambo V a little more in the tone of the original First Blood, but it seems like he's getting out of the Rambo business altogether.

In an interview with Variety, Stallone said that his "heart is willing, but the body says stay home." He further added that he was very happy with how John Rambo turned out and that if he doesn't think he can top it then he'd rather just bow out while he's on top.

What he does NOT say in this interview is that we will not be getting any new Rambo films. In fact if you click through and read it he goes out of his way to say he won't play Rambo again, not that the character is going away forever, so maybe he'll produce a reboot with a new, younger, actor in the role.

With the successful passing of the torch he did with Creed I was more than down to see him bring Rambo as full circle as he did with the Rocky character. Doesn't sound like we will now, but he may change his mind. The implication is he was looking at Rambo V to be a big action movie, but perhaps he might entertain a more personal, character-based bit of closure should that come along. Perhaps.

So, what do you guys think?
