Yeah, I'm pretty excited about HAMILTON, and apparently JJ Abrams is too. Abrams recently collaborated with Lin-Manuel Miranfa, writer and star of HAMILTON, for music that will play during THE FORCE AWAKENS. Specifically, another cantina scene in the film. Miranda has been working on the music for the past two months, twice a week. It will be exciting to hear what Miranda has come up with, and he's held this information pretty secret (which is indicative of this movie) - some of his HAMILTON cast members didn't even know he was working on it.
I've said all I wanted to say about HAMILTON - it truly is one of my favorite pieces of music at the moment, getting constant play in my car. I'm not alone, as HAMILTON has developed a fierce, loyal following in the past few months. Check out the hashtag #Force4Ham on Twitter and Facebook after this bit of news dropped - fans of both STAR WARS and HAMILTON will dig it. Some will consider this a bit of trendy involvement on Abrams' part, but I don't care. Abrams knows good music when he hears it. And HAMILTON is great music.
