Another project that Key & Peele are attached to? Jeeeeeeez…
The duo turned in their fifth and final season, which had a few viral hits but not one consistently funny episode, and are moving on to an endless list of projects. They already got KEANU in the can, there’s still that POLICE ACADEMY remake they were working on, they’re doing an animated series based on “Vandaveon and Mike”, there’s a Mr. Garvy film in the works, Peele’s got his horror movie, GET OUT, and Key, well, now he’s just popping up in all sorts of stuff now, isn’t he?
But this…this sounds nifty.
The pair are working with Henry Selick on a stop-motion animated feature about two demon brothers going up against a Satan-fighting nun and the two young goth kids under her wing.
The NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS/CORALINE director came up with the story himself, a first in his filmography. It seems that he’s working closely with Key & Peele behind-the-scenes, so this might add a comedic, edgy spirit to Selick’s dark, stylized animation.
Now, this isn’t locked in, and they’re currently looking for buyers (stop-motion’s pricey, after all), but with Key, Peele, and the NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS guy attached, who wouldn’t want to throw some bones down for this?
