Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I know there's a huge swath of film geekdom that got all up in arms when Ghostbusters went all female and I don't get it. As a huge, huge Ghostbusters fan the only thing I want out of a reboots is a talented team of funny people in a quasi-horror setting. Male, female, it doesn't really matter to me, as long as they're good at what they do.
So, will there be the same uproar around Sandra Bullock's all-lady Ocean's 11? I have no idea, but again I find myself intrigued by the idea. So does George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh, who will produce this reboot that will center on Bullock.
Hunger Games and Pleasantville director Gary Ross will direct, another solid move.
I don't know about you guys, but all I want out of this movie is a bunch of talented folks having a blast in some kind of heist story. The Soderbergh films coast on the charm of its cast and the fact that each film just feels like a bunch of friends hanging out and having a good time. If we can get a female version of that, I'm all for it. You?
