Jennifer Jason Leigh Joining Amanda Seyfried, Robert Forster, Sheryl Lee and Kyle MacLachlan On Showtime’s TWIN PEAKS??

I am – Hercules!!

I don’t think Showtime has announced any casting beyond Kyle MacLachlan (last January) but paparazzi apparently found Showtime’s “Twin Peaks” Mojave Desert location and snapped the actor playing Dale Cooper (or his evil doppelganger) opposite franchise newcomer Jennifer Jason Leigh and Sheryl Lee, who played (dead) Laura Palmer and (dead) Maddie Ferguson on the series when ABC aired it a quarter century ago.

In a 1992 episode of the ABC series, the dead Laura revealed she would meet Cooper again in 25 years, but made no mention of bring the star of “Fast Times At Ridgemont High” with her.

A Deadline report also indicates that Amanda Seyfried ("A Million Ways To Die In The West," "Ted 2"), Balthazar Getty ("Lost Highway") and Robert Knepper (“Mockingjay”) have all also apparently joined the cast, and that David Lynch (who is co-writing and directing all the Showtime episodes) is pursuing his “Mulholland Drive” Naomi Watts star to join “Peaks” as well.

IMDb, notoriously unreliable when it comes to projects in production, indicates that Harry Dean Stanton will reprise his “Fire Walk With Me” role of Carl Rodd, owner of the Fat Trout Trailer Park and the last person to see FBI special agent Chester Desmond (Chris Isaak).

IMDb also indicates Robert Forster (“Mulholland Drive”) has joined the franchise (possibly as Twin Peaks' new sheriff), and that returnees from the ABC series will include Ray Wise, Sherilyn Fenn, Peggy Lipton and Dana Ashbrook. IMDb places as “rumored” the returns of Madchen Amick, Piper Laurie and Lara Flynn Boyle.

“Michael [Ontkean, who played sheriff Harry S. Truman] is fully retired from show business, and has been for many years,” an anonymous source told TV Line earlier this month. ("Many years" I guess being four, since he was last seen as Cousin Milo in 2011’s “The Descendants”).)

No word on Everett McGill, Michael Parks, Miguel Ferrer, Heather Graham, Robyn Lively, Joan Chen, Kimmy Robertson, Billy Zane, James Marshall, Richard Beymer, Alicia Witt, Molly Shannon, David Duchovny, David L. Lander, Warren Frost, Michael Horse, Harry Goaz, Clarence Williams III, Grace Zabriskie, Russ Tamblyn, Ted Raimi, Julee Cruise, Michael J. Anderson or Carel Struycken.

Jack Nance, who played Pete Martell, passed away in 1996. Don S. Davis, who played Garland Briggs, passed away in 2008. Catherine Coulson, who played Margaret The Log Lady, passed away last month, apparently before she could participate in the “Peaks” revival.
