Frank Miller is Going to Talk Films and Influences in NYC Next Month! Get Your Tickets Now!

Hey guys! Horrorella here...

If you have plans to be in or near or even kind of sort of close to New York on November 15th, I've got something you won't want to miss.

The Modern School of Film offers incredible opportunities in film studies, for students and the public alike. In addition to classes, they also offer regular events featuring guest speakers from film, music and television to screen their favorite films and discuss how they were inspired by the work. Guests have included Gareth Evans, Mike Mignola, Fred Armisen, The Black Keys, Kristin Wiig, Paul Verhoeven, the great Wes Craven, and many many others.

They are about to launch a new series called In:Pictures, wherein guests will show and discuss clips from three separate films that have influenced their work.

It's always exciting to hear artists discuss projects they have worked on, but it's also quite interesting to hear them discuss pieces of art that they admire. It's fascinating to be able draw connections between different creators and their works, and to see the ways art can influence and inspire other artists and other mediums. This sounds like a fasicnating opportunity to dig a little deeper into the minds of different creators and see more of what propels them forward and what they find fanscinating.

The series launches on November 15 at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center, and their first guest will be the legendary Frank Miller. He will be examining and discussing Hitchcock's REBECCA, ALIEN and UNFORGIVEN. All brilliant films in their own right, but imagine Miller explaining what about them he finds fascinating and how he things they have influenced his work over the years.

Think about it! Geeking out over ALIEN with Frank Miller! Hell yeah!
