Drafthouse Films has released a new trailer for THE WORLD OF KANAKO, slated to hit theaters and VOD on December 4th.
The film is the latest from Tetsuya Nakashima (CONFESSIONS). It stars Koji Yakusho (13 ASSASSINS) as an ex-detective who travels into the bowels of the seedy underworld to search for his teenage daughter when she goes missing.
The footage here carries both a dark violence and a crazy, batshit sense of fun. But even without the bouncy J-Pop music, the film doesn't really look like it will hold anything back as a father searches the ends of the earth and uncovers a mass of dirty secrets in the hunt for his lost daughter.
