Powers Booth will reprise the role of Gideon Malick on “Agents Of SHIELD.”
In “The Avengers,” Malick was seen serving alongside the character played by Jenny Agutter on The World Security Council, which oversaw Nick Fury and SHIELD. (In the subsequent “Captain America: Winter Soldier,” we learned characters played by Robert Redford, Alan Dale, Bernard White and Chin Han all served on the same council.)
Will Malick, who will appear in multiple episodes on the ABC series, want to supervise Phil Coulson, who succeeded Nick Fury as head of SHIELD?
“Agents of SHIELD” has brought to TV numerous characters from the Marvel movies, notably U.S. President Matthew Ellis (played by William Sadler in “Iron Man Three”), Lady Sif (played by Jaime Alexander in the Thor films), Peggy Carter (played by Hayley Atwell in the Captain America films), Maria Hill (played by Cobie Smulders in the Avengers films and “Winter Soldier”), Dum Dum Dugan (played by Neal McDonough in Chris Evans’ first “Captain America” movie), Nick Fury (who has popped up in no fewer than seven Marvel movies, starting with “Iron Man”), Jasper Sitwell (played by Maximiliano Hernández in “Thor,” “The Avengers” and “Winter Soldier”), Jim Morita (played by Kenneth Choi in “Captain America: The First Avenger”), Doctor List (played by Henry Goodman in “Winter Soldier” and “Age of Ultron”), and of course Phil Coulson (played by Clark Gregg in “Iron Man,” “Iron Man 2,” “Thor” and “The Avengers”).
