Bryan Cranston joins Wes Anderson's company of actors...well, his voice anyway!

Jeff Goldblum does a weekly jazz set here in L.A. at the Rockwell, and last week, he dropped some knowledge about his next project: a stop-motion animated movie about dogs by his two-time collaborator Wes Anderson.

Nerdist was at the show, and reported Goldblum’s reveal that he, Edward Norton, Bob Balaban, and Bryan Cranston would be playing a pack of dogs in Anderson’s new film.

Goldblum, Norton, and Balaban have all worked with Anderson on more than one occasion, but this’ll be Cranston’s first time with the idiosyncratic director. Anderson injects his character with an unusual mix of deadpan and color that has attracted A-list actors since James Caan did BOTTLE ROCKET and (more importantly) Bill Murray revitalized his career with RUSHMORE. Cranston is pretty ace with accents and varied personas, and happens to be a funny son-of-a-bitch to boot. Plus, he has a ton of experience with voice-acting, most recently on the new Crackle series, SUPERMANSION.

I wasn’t too taken by FANTASTIC MR. FOX, but the idea of these four actors playing a pack of canines sounds too bizarre and potentially hilarious to pass up. Hopefully, Cranston has the same grand ol’ time that his three co-stars seem to have when working with Anderson, and will pop up in live-action form for the director somewhere down the line.

Now, where’s Murray?
