Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Hunger Games Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2 director Francis Lawrence is moving on to a Russian spy flick next and it looks like he may be bringing his leading lady with him.
The flick is called Red Sparrow and it's based on a book by Jason Matthews about a young female Russian intelligence worker who is groomed to be a seductress and runs into trouble when going after her CIA target.
Deadline says Jennifer Lawrence is circling the project and that shouldn't be too surprising. Pretty much every role for any woman between the ages of 18 and 40 in Hollywood right now is pretty much Jennifer Lawrence's unless she passes.
The two Lawrences work well together and it'd be interesting seeing how they make a modern day Putin-era espionage flick.
Anyway, there's no deal in place yet, but the latest is that Jennifer Lawrence could be the lead. Now you know!
