Oliver Stone's Joseph Gordon-Levitt starring SNOWDEN biopic pushed to 2016!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. THR says Oliver Stone's SNOWDEN biopic starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt isn't going to be ready in time for the big late 2015 awards push and the powers that be have decided to move it to 2016.

I'm damn curious about this one, given the material and Stone's involvement, but I'm kind of happy that the already crazy crowded December slate is just a tiny bit less crowded now. That means I won't feel as guilty watching The Force Awakens for the 13th time instead of an important awards-worthy drama.

No word on when in 2016 Open Road will be releasing Snowden, but if they really do think it has awards chances you might not see it debut until late next year. It's possible they'll take it to Sundance and do a Boyhood style long-lead buzz builder, but if they smell that Oscar gold they won't mind sitting on it for another year.

Thoughts?
