Hear Tom Hiddleston's Hank Williams twang in first clip for I SAW THE LIGHT!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Growing up I hated country music. Hated hated hated it. Until I realized some of the music I did like was considered country, like Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline. They played that music on the "Oldies" stations I'd listen to so I thought they were just forms of rock and roll, which I guess in a weird way they are since rock was born out of a fusion of country, gospel and blues.

As I've gotten older I still recoil away from modern country like it's a wet finger in the ear, but I've actually grown more nostalgic for the shit I didn't like as a kid. Dolly Parton, Waylon Jennings and Kenny Rogers spring to mind.

All this is to say I don't really know jack or shit about country music, but I do know if I'm going to have it I prefer the classic stuff. Plus I'll watch Tom Hiddleston in anything, so I Saw The Light is a highly anticipated movie for me.

In advance of its Toronton premiere Hiddleston himself revealed the first clip which shows his singin' chops and then for some reason kinda peters out with some footage of Hiddleston as Williams at home sitting down to read a newspaper.

Check it out:
