Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Confirmation came out today that Lucasfilm was going back to Skellig Michael in Ireland to film some Star Wars stuff next month (read here) and the assumption was that JJ Abrams was going to return for pick-ups.
Nah-uh, says EW. They got word from Lucasfilm that they're actually shooting some stuff for Rian Johnson's Episode 8.
This could be plates because of wanting to capture a specific seasonal look of this location or they might need to shoot out an actor because of scheduling reasons, but I'm betting this doesn't mark the beginning of principal photography for Episode 8.
We know Skellig Michael plays a prominent role in The Force Awakens. Gonna be interesting to see exactly what that is this December and think of all the possibilities already lined up for the sequel!
