Deadline has a source that says Simone Missick (“Ray Donovan”) has been cast in “Luke Cage” as the Netflix equivalent of Missy Knight, in print an ex-NYPD officer who got a bionic arm from Tony Stark after she lost her fleshy one in the line of duty.
We probably won’t see Robert Downey Jr. stick the new arm on Knight, but we theoretically could, since “Luke Cage” is set in the same live-action universe as the Iron Man and Avengers movies (to say nothing of “Hulk,” “Thor,” “Ant-Man,” “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Agent Carter,” “Agents of SHIELD,” etc. etc. etc.).
“Luke Cage” will definitely utilize characters from other Marvel/Netflix series, including two characters from the comics who have been romantically linked to Cage -- the titular ex-superhero from “AKA Jessica Jones” and Claire Temple, the Rosario Dawson character who serves as a component of Netflix’s “Daredevil” and “Jones.”
Introduced in a 1975 issue of Marvel Premiere, the print version of Knight came to team with Iron Fist, who will get his own Netflix series following the arrival of the “Luke Cage” series.
