Hey folks, Harry here... We just got sent the release that Nicholas Hoult has been cast to star as JD Salinger in REBEL IN THE RYE for Danny Strong, who is best known for his Fox show, EMPIRE... but also the screenplays for these last two HUNGER GAMES movies and THE BUTLER. REBEL IN THE RYE is going to be based upon the Kenneth Slawenski written biography, JD SALINGER: A LIFE.
The film press release states that:
REBEL IN THE RYE takes us on a journey into the life and mind of the legendary and secretive author and tells the story of the birth of The Catcher in the Rye. As the author who captivated a generation, JD Salinger soared to the heights of the literary world but left it all behind for a life of seclusion. Well, I certainly hope for good things from this production. We'll see...
