Something to keep in mind when watching tonight’s installment of “Fear The Walking Dead”: California law enforcement officers killed 19 unarmed people between January and May of this year. Not one city-paralyzing riot broke out during that period.
I lived in Los Angeles more than a quarter century. I believe if I witnessed an unarmed person or an unarmed zombie being shot to death on the evening news or YouTube, my inclination would not be to riot. I doubt I could be bothered to change the channel, let alone look out the window.
I find the birth of the zombie apocalypse as depicted on “Fear The Walking Dead” wildly unconvincing.

Vanessa won Head of Household and nominated James and Meg.
James won the Power Of Veto and intends to use it to pull himself off the block.

AMC’s “Fear The Walking Dead” scored the biggest cable series premiere ever, but were it a regular “Walking Dead” episode it would be the least-watched since 2012:

FX’s “The Strain” took a hit competing with the somewhat similar “Fear The Walking Dead.”
David Simon’s HBO housing drama is a way better show than the second season of “True Detective,” but it sure isn’t getting the ratings.
