Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. We know that Amy Schumer is wickedly funny and that Jennifer Lawrence is America's favorite goofball, so the idea of these two getting together to write and star in a comedy just puts a massive smile on my face.
Normally the news of “we're working on something” isn't guaranteed to go anywhere, but methinks that post Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt 2 Ms. Lawrence might have the clout to get a comedy off the ground. Throw in Schumer's rising star and it's pretty much a guarantee that if they can keep the budget within a reasonable range this movie's happening.
So, what is this thing? When talking to The New York Times, Jennifer Lawrence couldn't help but discuss her budding friendship with Schumer and said they're about a hundred pages into a comedy they're writing together (with some help from Schumer's sister, Kim, who also helped Amy with Trainwreck). The only thing Lawrence said about the plot is that they'd play sisters.
The feeling I get from the few quotes that showed up in the Times is that Lawrence and Schumer are just trying to crack each other up and knowing how funny these two people are I'd wager that means us normal audience people will get to benefit whenever this movie sees the light of day.
Could this be the beginning of a whole series of goofy movies produced and starring these two women? Will they be our new Hope/Crosby? Our new Wilder/Pryor? I hope so!
