A comedy that pits Bryan Cranston against James Franco? I'm in.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Bryan Cranston is a funny guy, a fact that gets lost post-Breaking Bad. It's no surprise to me that he's playing the incredibly sarcastic Dalton Trumbo, for instance. And it looks like he's got another project lined up that could further showcase how good he is at comedy.

Deadline is reporting that Cranston has joined up with a film called Why Him? in which he plays a father who visits his college-aged daughter and finds himself in a battle of wills with her new tech billionaire boyfriend, to be played by James Franco.

20th Century Fox is making the movie with John Hamburg (I Love You, Man) directing.

Franco vs. Cranston sounds like it could make this movie work. I expect their rivalry to really propel things and go into some messed up places. Why else would you cast those two? Lots of opportunity for some spectacular head-butting.
