Here's your big rumor of the day: Will Man of Steel 2 have a furiously talented director?

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Warner Bros has said over and over again that Batman v Superman is not Man of Steel 2. The likely reason for that is they have definite plans to keep on chugging with stand-alone Superman films, however none have appeared on their announced slate, which takes us to 2020.

Common sense tells us that WB is going to want to take their star superhero out as many times as they can while the audience is still thirsty for any and all superhero flicks, so it's no surprise that today's rumor revolves around a potential director for Man of Steel 2.

Jon Schnepp, director of The Death of Superman Lives, might have just leaked out who will be helming the next stand alone adventure starring everybody's favorite big blue boy scout while appearing on Popcorn Talk.

He's pretty confident that it's going to be George Miller.

Yes, that George Miller.

It would make sense that Warners would turn to him after the huge critical and financial success of Fury Road. Plus they kinda owe him one after butt-fucking him on his Justice League movie back in the day.

Would he be down for another go at a big studio superhero movie knowing full well that last time he did he devoted years of his life and mountains of creative energy to it only to watch it all fall apart into nothing? The situation is certainly different, as he'd now be working within an established shared universe instead of splintering off from what the studio was doing and making his own thing, but it's still something to think about.

Also, Schnepp could be talking out of his ass. That's a possibility, too. However it pans out, why don't we all sit back and let our geek imaginations soar at the thoughts of what a George Miller Superman movie would look like.
