Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. High School English teachers are all either getting really excited at the prospect of a Hugh Jackman-starring Odyssey movie or are terrified it'll be crazy different from Homer's story and thus the source of hundreds of incorrect essays.
The Odyssey was one of my favorite books we studied in high school (next to Fahrenheit 451 and Lord of the Flies), but that shouldn't be much of a shock. It is, afterall, pretty much a Ray Harryhausen movie in written form. Mythological monsters are always fun to read about.
The Wrap is saying Hugh Jackman is not signed, but is in talks to play Odysseus for Francis Lawrence in Lionsgate's adaptation of Homer's epic story.
That's pretty great casting if it comes to be. I also like Lawrence a lot. If they don't go all Clash of the Titans Remake on this one it could be something special. What do you folks think?
