A lot of people were disappointed by the first JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS trailer, saying it’s pop-infused stylings didn’t at all recall the highs they associated with the original series. Hopefully, this trailer, with its purple-glowing R2D2 and a little more footage of Molly Ringwald and Juliette Lewis’ characters, is a little better at getting the old fans onboard with this new, obviously youth-skewing adaptation.
The marketing is so specific that I have no way of gauging how I’ll feel about the final product, other than the fact that Jon M. Chu has those STEP UPs and NEVER SAY NEVER under his belt…and these songs *shudder*.
Feel any better about this update, or should Jem and her Holograms have stayed in the 80s?
JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS are gonna learn to be themselves or something, on October 23rd, 2015.
