There’s no word on whether he’s playing Dr. Peter Venkman or not, but Bill Murray is in Boston right now to film a scene for next year’s “Ghostbusters” movie, which also features appearances by loads of other SNL vets, including Dan Aykroyd, Kristin Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Cecily Strong and Leslie Jones.
Sony has for decades been chasing Murray to star in a third “Ghostbusters” movie, and Murray recently dismissed as “crazy talk” the rumors that he would participate in the 2016 reboot.
Aykroyd, who starred in the first two “Ghostbusters,” has a cameo in next year’s as a cabdriver.
The third “Ghostbusters” is directed by Paul Feig (“Bridesmaids,” “The Heat”) from a screenplay by Feig and Katie Dippold (“Parks and Recreation,” “The Heat”).
Sony scares it up next July.
