FX’s LOUIE On
Indefinite Hiatus!!

I am – Hercules!!

“Curb Your Enthusiasm is the right analogy,” said FX CEO John Landgraf of the “Louie” hiatus. Whenever “Louie” returns, he said, “it will be [creator/star Louis CK’s] choice.” Landgraf said he hopes “Louie” continues on FX for decades.

Larry David’s “Curb” launched in 2000 but didn’t air any new episodes in 2003, 2006, 2008 or 2010. David is reportedly gathering material for a ninth season even though HBO aired the last new “Curb” four years ago next month.

We’ve been getting less and less “Louie” in recent years. No episodes aired in 2013 (the same year CK appeared in Woody Allen’s “Blue Jasmine” and David O. Russell’s “American Hustle”) and this year’s “Louie” season was the shortest yet, with only eight episodes instead of 13 or 14.

CK stars in the upcoming Hollywood blacklist drama “Trumbo” and is busy writing and producing two other FX sitcoms:

“Basket,” which stars Zach Galifianakis as a frustrated clown; and

“Better Things,” which stars longtime CK collaborator Pam Adlon as an actress raising three daughters.
