That’s actress Laura Benanti (“Nurse Jackie,” “The Good Wife,” “Nashville”) as Supergirl’s biological mother, Alura Zor-El, who was played in 1984’s “Supergirl” movie by Mia Farrow.
Word is Lois Lane’s kid sister Lucy will also be joining Kara Danvers, Maxwell Lord, Cat Grant, James Olsen and Hank Henshaw on “Supergirl,” which follows Superman’s 24-year-old cousin as she decides to use her superpowers to fight crime.
CBS’ “Supergirl” comes to us from Greg Berlanti, who wrote the Ryan Reynolds “Green Lantern” movie before he created “Arrow,” “The Flash” and the upcoming “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” for The CW.
CBS lets “Supergirl” fly Oct. 26.
