Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I love Deadpool. I spent the majority of my first year of subscription to Marvel Unlimited reading everything that character had to offer and I just love the character, especially when he fell into the crazy hands of Brian Posehn and Gerry Duggan.
I've also been loving how the film has be navigating the early marketing. Fox isn't always dependable with its superheroes and they've already fucked up Wade Wilson once, but it feels like the powers that be just kinda threw their hands up in the air and said "Screw it. Do what you want, Ryan Reynolds!"
Two trailers have debuted. One for the regular beach goers and one for the old ladies in the pond (sorry, had to throw in a Jaws reference). Red band is up first and the green band follows:
Yay, bad words, ultra-violence, insane healing factor, winky-winky knock on the Green Lantern suit and Blind Al!!!
Here's the green band which is still fun despite being for "all audiences."
There you have it. I hope the movie's as fun as it's trying to convince us it is. The end result doesn't have to be amazing, it just has to capture that unique self-aware brand of humor the character works so well with in the books.
