Will there be more “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” which hasn’t aired a new episode since Sept. 11, 2011?
HBO programming chief Michael Lombardo, speaking at HBO’s TCA event, says he met with star-mastermind Larry David shortly before the premiere of David’s Broadway debut “Fish in the Dark.”
During the meeting, David pulled out a notebook and showed it to Lombardo.
“Do you know what this is?” asked David, who turned 68 this month. “This is the next-season notebook.”
“I don’t think it’s out of his system,” Lombardo said. “When he has something to say, he will come back. I certainly see this as a continuing dialogue with him – a long one, but a continuing one.”
This is the longest hiatus, but not the only lengthy one for the “Curb,” which launched in 2000. HBO also failed to air new episodes in 2003, 2006, 2008 and 2010.
David did sort of break up the current hiatus with “Clear History,” the HBO TV movie he starred in and co-wrote.
