Tom Cruise appeared on one of Jon Stewart’s last seven episodes of “The Daily Show” Tuesday night and told the outgoing chatshow host that a sixth “Mission: Impossible” movie could start shooting as early as next year! “We’re starting to work on it now,” said the actor. “We’ll probably start shooting it next summer.”
That sounds like new “Impossible” is coming in 2017, and that would be a record turnaround for the franchise.

Cruise, who turned 53 earlier this month, also told the press this week that he has an idea for a sequel to his spectacularly entertaining time-travel saga “Edge of Tomorrow” (AKA “All You Need Is Kill” AKA “Live Die Repeat”) that would reteam him with Emily Blunt. Apparently big foreign grosses and brisk worldwide Blu-ray sales make the sequel a very real possibility.
