Like all right-thinking Americans I tuned into last week’s “Last Comic Standing” to see how the great Norm Macdonald was working out as the franchise’s latest judge. What I’d not anticipated was how effective dry-witted insult comic Anthony Jeselnik was playing against the brainy SNL vet.
As a bonus, I found myself laughing at every one of the comics who turned up at last week’s 2-hour invitational.
As summer shows go, LCS has to rate as the season’s most improved. Hopefully viewers will stick with it.

Grad student Clay won the Power of Veto and took himself off the block.
Poker champ and current HoH Vanessa used basement-dwelling gay cashier Jason to replace Clay on the nomination block.
Either Jason or superhot Ambercromie & Finch manager Becky will get the boot on Thursday’s live eviction show, and all signs point to Jason.
Meanwhile, twins Liz and Julia – having survived the first five evictions – will each begin competing full time as separate players, probably starting with Thursday’s live show.

“Sharknado 3” tied “Duck Dynasty” as last Wednesday’s top cable show.
