Two foreign-produced television shows -- both about Americans relocated to Scandinavia -- are kaputt, according to two coincidental Tuesday announcements.
Netflix’s “Lilyhammer,” which stars Steven Van Zandt (still wearing his Silvo Dante “Sopranos” wig) as a New York mobster hiding from the mafia in Norway, is done after three seasons.
NBC’s “Welcome to Sweden,” which stars Amy Pohler’s brother Greg as a Los Angeles accountant who moves to Europe to live with his Swedish girlfriend, is finished after two seasons.
Netflix does not disclose viewership numbers, but “Welcome To Sweden” recently returned with an audience that even CW execs would find ridiculously tiny. (“Aquarius” gets the same ridiculously low ratings – a 0.2 in the key demo this weekend! – but NBC renewed it for next season anyway.)
