Shyamalan On WAYWARD PINES: We Have An Idea For Season Two!!

I am – Hercules!!

"Wayward Pines" is by no means a ratings blockbuster like "Empire" (Fox's other series with Terrence Howard), but I judge its first 10 episodes one of the most creatively successful endeavors ever to roost on broadcast television.

I love that "Pines" had the "Thrones"-ish temerity to kill off its lead character and end on a decidedly unhappy note.

Will there be more?

"I am happy to walk away, especially with such a wonderful reaction and all that stuff," Shyamalan tells Deadline Hollywood. "But honestly, ["Pines" novelist Blake Crouch] and I do have an idea."

Man, if only CBS did as good a job with “Under The Dome” as Fox did with “Wayward Pines,” it wouldn’t need the “Big Brother” franchise to keep “Dome” afloat.

“Wayward Pines” is getting way better ratings than NBC’s just-renewed “Aquarius,” but none of its actors are signed for a second season.

Also, the 2015 episodes blew through all three of Blake Crouch’s novels.

Last week – thanks to Lot 33 and some Adam Hassler video, the town learned that there was little incentive to escape, and Pilcher decided to turn off the fence.

Fox says of tonight’s “Cycle”:

“After Pilcher decides to turn off the electricity in Wayward Pines – with deadly repercussions – Ethan and Kate take the initiative to make sure everyone is out of harm’s way. Meanwhile, Nurse Pam confronts Pilcher on his decision and tries to convince him to reconsider, Ethan and Kate plan for an attack and the first generation tries to protect the future of Wayward Pines by taking matters into their own hands.”
