If you haven’t seen ANT-MAN yet, you may not want to read any further than this sentence.
You’ve been warned…
If you have seen ANT-MAN and were clever enough to stick around when the lights came up, you likely encountered two tags embedded within the picture’s closing credits. While one clearly pertained to CIVIL WAR (Marvel’s next Cinematic blow-out), the other…namely Evangeline Lilly getting her ‘Wasp’ suit…seemed like it might be more ANT-MANverse specific. However, it’s sounding like that moment may actually have far broader repercussions.
In an interview with Yahoo, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has revealed that the moment in which Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) bestows the suit on daughter Hope van Dyne (Lilly) will actually resonate broadly throughout Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“It’s going to be certainly a part of our Phase 3,” says Feige, referring to the upcoming slate of Marvel films beginning with Captain America: Civil War. “It is going to be a very important moment, and — spoiler alert! — we see that suit for the first time, and her father now is finally giving it to her and realizes that he can’t hold her back from what is essentially her destiny.”
